THE BARN DIFFERENCE

We’ve got a truly special studio located here in the beautiful hill country of Austin, Texas.

There is a level of quality and an amount of content that the consumer and the industry requires from artists now. The Machine Shop is streamlined to produce as much top tier content for you as possible when you’re here. However, what’s more important is that the Machine Shop fosters a family vibe that keeps us here and our clients coming back. Even if you’re only thinking about booking some time, we’d love for you to drop by and hang out!

There are some places on this page where we say to ask for pricing. This is so we can get all of the variables taken into account for your personal situation.

 RECORD AT THE BARN

First and foremost, the Machine Shop is a recording studio and getting your vision produced is our wheelhouse. We book both half- and full-day sessions with our engineers. Mixing and mastering is priced at the same half/full-day rates.

Half-day sessions are for five hours and are usually from 10am to 3pm and 6pm to 11pm, but we can vary these times if need be.

Full-day sessions last for ten hours and begin at 10am unless we have arranged otherwise.

LIVE BAND REHEARSAL

The magic doesn’t happen without the preparation beforehand! We’re in tune with the live music scene and know how important effective rehearsals are. That’s why we offer the barn as a live rehearsal space with one of our engineers present.

We book rehearsals for four hours at a time. This includes backline, a PA system, and professional monitoring with one of us there.

Live Band Rehearsal - $200

 LIVE STREAM PERFORMANCE

We understand how hard it is to reach all of your fans in a way that will help them really connect with you. That’s why we offer the opportunity to perform live at the barn and connect with all of your fans via live stream. With our engineers and professional video crew, you can give everything you’ve got to your performance and we’ll take care of the rest. It’s important to us that you look great, sound great, and are having an experience that neither you nor your fans will forget.

 EXTRAS

We offer some additional things that will cut down the stress of the studio and provide you with more content. We know how much of a difference these can make, so we hope you’ll consider them. If you’re unsure if something would be useful to you or not, please ask us! We want to make sure you’re fully happy with your experience with us.

Additional Engineers - $150 each

In the case where your session requires professional audio editing, this is an incredible bang for your buck. Have an additional talented engineer tuning a vocal or editing for a tighter drum performance, etc. Generally, this should be added if a session is going to require more hands on deck for set up. There are times we will decide whether this is necessary or not, but it will always be discussed beforehand.
